Leila Hieta

Leila Hieta is AI Development Manager at the Finnish Meteorological Institute. She works on the development and evaluation of machine-learning approaches for weather prediction, including Aila, FMI’s regional high-resolution AI weather model for Finland and Northern Europe. Her work contributes to advancing the use of AI alongside conventional numerical weather prediction.
